Jamestown, America's first permanent English Colony

Today we went to Jamestown VA. WOW! It was so much fun.  There was so much to see and to interact with.  I really think the kids were on sensory overload.  Not only did we get to learn about the history of Jamestown but we also got to go onto replica ships from the period.  The Susan Constant was the biggest ship of all.  It was hard to believe but over 100 people lived on the ship for 5 months while making the journey to America.  It totaled in size of sq. footage only a little bigger than our RV! We had a great time learning and listening and asking questions, and boy, did they have a lot of questions.  Which reminds me, does anyone know where I can find the off button to a 3 year old?  Mine seemed to not have one when she was born and is a verbal machine with no end.  Questions beget questions and most of the time getting an answer is not on her priority list.  My dad used to say I talked because I liked to hear myself! I think that I passed the trait on to her.  Amazing how things come back full circle.

Tomorrow were off to Yorktown and then Colonial Williamsburg.  I am really looking forward though most of all to the all you can eat seafood buffet at Captain Georges, YUM!
